Is it possible to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously on two different continents?

Our guest, Maciek Cichoński, claims that yes, this is possible. In his role at NaviParking, Maciek manages projects in Dubai, Manama and throughout the entire country of Poland, all at the same time.

“Every region we need to treat a little bit separately, as we have different demands, we have a different approach, we have different stakeholders, and there are of course different cultural aspects.”

Although challenging at times, Maciek does it all with a smile on his face because, according to him, part of the fun are the unexpected challenges that come up. He has even discovered the key to managing multiple projects worldwide at the same time. The key? Human connection.

“For me, it’s not all about the task and focusing on the deadlines. It’s like you will not be successful during the project if you will not respect your teammates because a Project Manager is like the outside package. It’s like the present, right? So as I try to emphasize every time, I cannot finish the project without the people, and I just try to coordinate and help them to have everything at once.”

This human connection is not just significant to have with coworkers but also with clients and partners. And this is something that Maciek is discovering to be particularly important in the managing of his digital parking project in Manama.

“It’s not about the emails or about the video conferences. It’s about being on-site to talk with them, to shake their hands because the work is very important.”
